Pinterest Recipes- Tried and Truely Great

This recipe is awesome.  Honestly, I'm craving it right now just thinking about it.  The slaw mix calls for two teaspoons of finely chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce.  If you've never used these peppers before, you should know three things- 1.  They are available in the Goya brand at most Walmarts.  Look in the Latin American food aisle.  2.  Always slice them open and remove all the seeds.  Unless you like super, super spicy foods.  I learned this the hard way.  3. The smoky, slightly spicy flavor is worth the trouble.

Now I just have to figure out how to keep the avocado bean mixture from turning brown in the fridge.  And next time I want to try making these whole wheat tortillas.

Another totally yummy recipe.  If you enjoy desserts and love thick ice cream, this one is for you!  Based on the amount of ingredients, it doesn't look like it makes very much, but it is super rich, so servings can be pretty small.  I'm going to make it for dessert for dinner company sometime, but would like to think of something to serve with it that would tone down the richness.  Coffee, of course, but something else too.  Any suggestions?

I've also been dreaming up other flavors... Crushed pretzels would be good (a little salty with the sweet) or crushed chocolate covered coffee beans.  Or maybe even pistachios? Sky's the limit, ladies.  Just don't make this more than once in a blue moon or serious weight gain will ensue.  You've been warned.

Enjoy!

  4. Try lemon juice for the avocado bean mixture? Another surefire trick is simply to eat it all in one setting = ) Deborah
